 feel awesome

Each year, febfasters report feeling healthier, they get more sleep, save money and are more productive at work. What’s not to love?

Every year we ask our febfasters how the month off made them feel. The feedback we receive is overwhelmingly positive. We are told the days and nights without alcohol or sugar improve energy levels, concentration, sleep and the ability to relax, while also decreasing stress and mental tension. With all the extra time and energy they have, our febfasters get out more - going for a surf, exploring new bike paths or spending more quality time with the kids.

We know a month without sugar or alcohol can sound daunting. It wouldn’t be a challenge otherwise! But, we’ll arm you with the tools and resources you need to keep on track throughout the month as a registered febfaster. We’ll be with you every step of the way through email, Facebook, Instagram and of course, this website!

And if you’ve got a birthday or celebration you’d like to let your hair down at, that’s OK – just grab yourself a Time Out Pass and give yourself a 24 hour break!

The benefits of febfast… where do we start? A month without alcohol or sugar does wonders for both your physical and mental health. Think of it as a post-silly season cleanse just before returning to work, getting you back in shape for the rest of the year.

Aside from the short term negative effects of alcohol and sugar like hangovers, sugar dependency, low energy and weight gain, both have recently been linked to more serious long term illnesses. A recent study by University College London found just one month without alcohol reduces blood pressure and improves cholesterol and insulin resistance. This leads to better liver health and a reduced risk of developing diabetes.

The University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital recently found just nine days without sugar provides significant benefits to the body. Through their study, researchers observed a drop in blood pressure, cholesterol and insulin, as well as improved liver function in children.

So, your body will love you for swearing off the wine or waffles for a month!
