Day 1

We'll, I didn't get out of bed half an hour early....however, I did walk to lunch! I finally pumped up the tyres on my bike when I got home and did a few laps of the dried out wetland. I managed to get down to the pool to aqua class, but didn't manage to actually get into the water. I did spend half an hour strolling around town! Donate to the cause and I promise I'll actually get into the pool next time!

It's febfast eve and I'm ready to go! I think, I hope...

Here's the plan so far...get out of bed half and hour earlier tomorrow and do some gentle stretching and walk around the garden. That seems like a good way to start, can't be getting too ambitious. There's shiny new pair of runners in the bottom drawer of my desk so I can head off around the campus at lunchtime...walking, not actually running. That would be just silly. 

Well, that's a start anyway, don't want to get ahead of myself. See how I go.... 

For those of us fortunate enough to choose to give up something this February, think about the young people in our community who don't have the choices we have. A few dollars can help make a change. 

I'm taking a pause for a cause this February

I’m taking a pause for a cause this February to challenge myself and support Australia's youth. It’s the perfect excuse to kick-start a healthier year, whilst raising funds for disadvantaged young people in Australia. From overcoming mental health issues and the impact of abuse and neglect, to finding safe housing and tackling drug and alcohol problems, febfast funds youth workers who connect with young people experiencing disadvantage and ultimately help them stand on their own two feet.

Although I don't drink, smoke, swear, eat lot's of sugar or junk food or watch much TV I thought there wasn't a way I could get involved, but one thing I can do is give up being inactive! I'm becoming a bit of a sloth, so my FebFast challenge to to give up being inactive. I'm going to be active every day and improve my fitness while helping to raise much needed funds for this important work. Thanks for supporting my febfast challenge.
