This February, I’ve decided to take part in Feb Fast to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention — a cause that is incredibly important to me.

Mental health touches more lives than we often realise. Whether it’s someone we love, someone we work with, or something we quietly struggle with ourselves, the impact is real and far-reaching. Feb Fast is a small personal challenge, but it represents something much bigger: starting conversations, showing support, and helping fund vital services that save lives.

Giving up alcohol for the month is my way of standing in solidarity with this cause and being more intentional about my choices — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I also want to be completely honest and transparent. I’ve chosen to allow myself one planned cheat day during the month, and that will be entirely at my own cost. This isn’t about undermining the challenge — it’s about being realistic, accountable, and human. The cost of that day will be donated as part of my fundraising, and I’ll be straight back to alcohol-free afterwards.

For me, this challenge isn’t about perfection — it’s about commitment, awareness, and support. If this helps spark even one conversation or encourages one person to donate, check in on a loved one, or seek help when they need it, then it’s worth it
