Why I Febfast
This February, I’m giving up alcohol to raise vital funds for Lifeline. I’m doing this for memory: to honour a young friend who lost everything—first his family, then his life—to the devastation of alcohol abuse. His story does not end with the pain, but with a call to prevent it for others; solidarity: to stand with a friend who has felt alcohol grind his marriages to dust and distance him from his son. His battle is a daily reminder that addiction is a cruel thief, but recovery is possible. He is not alone; hope: for everyone feeling they are trapped in a dark place, believing they are alone and there is no way out. For those blinded by a struggle that tells them they are beyond help. That's a lie. Lifeline is there with that helping hand, ready to step in when someone is ready to reach out. They provide the crisis support and counselling that can be the first, critical step toward waking up from the hurt and choosing a different path.nnBy donating, you are not just supporting a charity. You are directly contributing to that moment of connection for someone who believes they are utterly alone. You are helping Lifeline answer that call.
Every 24 seconds, someone in Australia reaches out to Lifeline for help
That’s more than 3,000 people every single day who just need someone to listen. By skipping the sip for one month, I’m not only giving my body a break – I’m helping make sure Lifeline can be there, anytime and anywhere, for the people who need it most.
It’s a small challenge for me, but it could mean life-changing support for someone else.
Together we can ensure Lifeline can continue to be there 24/7 so that no one has to face their toughest moments alone.
MY PROGRESS
Check out my Febfast calendar to see my progress! You can choose a date to sponsor me with a One-OFF Pass. It will give me a night off my challenge while still supporting Australians in crisis.
MY IMPACT SO FAR
I've raised $0 so far - that's 0 calls answered for Lifeline's crisis support hotline.
Every $39 helps power another call, offering hope and crucial moments of connection to people in their toughest moments. Will you back me with a donation?
